Starbucks Under Fire For 'Unhealthy' Coffee Drink
Starbucks may be the next target of a lawsuit over unhealthy food. The Center for Science in the Public Interest says there are several health risks associated with the coffee chain's products.
A 20-ounce venti Banana Mocha Frappuccino with whipped cream contains 720 calories and 11 grams of fat. That's more calories than a McDonald's Big Mac.
But some customers CBS 5 talked to in San Jose say sometimes the taste is worth the risk.
"All the drinks have a lot of sugar in them, but they're good," said one person. 'I'm young, and I'm not worried about me over my weight."
The CSPI wants Starbucks to use healthier shortenings without transfats.
It also wants the company to list nutrition information on menu boards.
Starbucks says it is actively researching alternatives to high fat products.
