Office Coffee
Almost 80 percent of U.S. workers say employers providing hot beverages such as coffee make them feel the employers care about them, a survey finds.
The survey, conducted by Harris Interactive for the National Automatic Merchandising Association - a trade association of the food and refreshment services -- also found that 76 percent thought drinking hot beverages is relaxing.
Seventy-two percent said their office hot beverage service is convenient, while 47 percent said they appreciated that they do not have to pay for -- or at least that they get a break on the price - for hot beverages.
The research indicates 79 percent of employed U.S. adults with access to office hot beverage service at work report that they are more productive, and 63 percent view coffee as a good way for people to get some energy.
The study found that, on average, going outside of the office to get coffee takes almost three times longer than it does to get a cup of coffee from a hot beverage service in the workplace.
