Kiss coffee to go
After conquering the music industry with more than 19 million record sold in the U.S., Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons are taking the Kiss name into the coffee business with the opening of the Kiss Coffeehouse on June 27th in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The deal is reported to be through the band's merchandising company Signatures Network, and will be just another in a long list of official Kiss merchandise - which also includes a coffin.
Kiss still tours with original founding members Stanley and Simmons and Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer - who replaced original members Ace Frehley (lead guitar) and Peter Criss (drums). The band released their first album in 1974, but saw their first big success with 1975 ‘Alive' and the follow-up studio album ‘Destroyer.'
Their most recent studio album was 1998's ‘Psycho Circus' which was recorded with the original band members following a successful reunion tour. It was followed by the live album ‘Kiss Symphony: Alive IV'- recorded in 2003 with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
