Fashion And Coffee Collides
If you are a fan of fashion and coffee then you'll want to get your hands on a new limited edition t-shirt personalized to suit your distinct taste.
But you won't find this must have item at a clothing store and that's because a popular coffee house is the company putting out the customized t-shirts.
Starbucks has commissioned Project Runway fashion finalist Mychael Knight to design the line of t-shirts to showcase how easy and fun it is to customize a Starbucks beverage.
The line of special shirts is called "My-Starbucks," and the goal of the campaign is to show customers that customization is not just integral to fashion; it's inherent to the "Starbucks Experience," according to a company news release. To brew interest in the t-shirts, Knight has been making personal appearances at select Starbucks coffee shops throughout the country.
Knight's latest stop was in South Florida where he did an autograph signing at a Starbucks on Ocean Drive in South Beach.
The up and coming designer was a fan favorite on last season's Project Runway, televised on the Bravo Network. Throughout the season fashion designers are presented with a new challenge, which requires them to design on a budget and on a tight timeframe.
One by one the contestants are eliminated until there are just three left, getting the chance of a lifetime --designing a collection to be shown at Fashion Week in New York. Knight made it to Fashion Week but didn't win the competition. That hasn't slowed him down.
With celebrity clients like Queen Latifah and Jagged Edge and nationwide exposure through his Starbucks shirts, Knight's fashion career has just begun.
