Coffee Pacifica Establishes Coffee Growers Welfare Fund
Coffee Pacifica, Inc. announced that it has established a "Coffee Growers Welfare Fund" (" the Fund").
The Fund is designed to provide a specific child birth medical coverage to enable the female coffee farmers who are members of the PNG Coffee Growers Federation Ltd to have access to hospital medical coverage at the time of child birth.
The main objective of the Fund is to reduce the number of prenatal and postnatal deaths. The administrator of the Fund is PNG Coffee Growers Federation Ltd. Additional details on the Fund's implementation and direct benefits to be derived by the members of Papua New Guinea coffee farmers will be made available.
The vice chairman of Coffee Pacifica, Jon Yogiyo, commented that "our farmers are an important asset, it is most appropriate that we assist them at the time of child birth. We are committed to improve the welfare and lives of the simple coffee farmers."
