5 Things You Can Do With Coffee Filters

5 Things You Can Do With Coffee Filters
Yes, they keep the grounds from contaminating your latte. But coffee filters are a surprisingly versatile household item.

Try using them to:

Cushion your china.

Lay a filter flat between each dish when stacking to prevent chips and scratches.

Feed your guests.

Instead of using napkins to hold hors d'oeuvres, fill coffee filters with mini servings of chips, nuts or popcorn shrimp. (The smaller ones look more stylish than you think.)

Get rid of dust.

Use a coffee filter to wipe down your furniture or even your windows. Bonus: They won't leave lint behind.

Keep your clothes smelling fresh.

Place a handful of dried herbs (try lavender or chamomile) in the center of the filter, tie the top with a pretty ribbon and toss the sachet in your closet or drawer.

Make yogurt cheese.

Line a colander with a coffee filter, and set over a bowl. Add 1 cup of plain or flavored yogurt (make sure it doesn't contain gelatin), cover and refrigerate for 8 to 12 hours. The filter will separate the liquid (whey) from the yogurt, leaving you with a soft spread for bagels and toast. Yummy!
